WE WANT YOU TO LOVE YOUR PIECE

At Elsewhere Abode, we choose pieces with warmth, durability, natural fibres, slow production and quiet beauty in mind.

A blanket is personal. It is something you live with, style, wrap around your shoulders, layer across the bed, pack into the van and reach for when the air turns cool.

We want your Elsewhere Abode piece to feel right, not just good enough to keep, but something you genuinely love and return to season after season.

30-DAY RETURNS FOR STORE CREDIT

If your blanket arrives and the feel, colour, size or design is not quite right for your home, van, cabin or camp setup, you may return it within 30 days of receiving your order for a store credit.

This gives you time to see the piece in your space, feel the texture properly and decide whether it is something you will truly cherish.

Change-of-mind returns are issued as store credit, not a cash refund.

IF YOUR RETURN FALLS OUTSIDE 30 DAYS

We understand that life elsewhere happens. Trips come up, parcels are opened late, plans shift, and sometimes 30 days can get away from us.

If your return request falls outside the 30-day window but you have a genuine concern, please contact us at admin@elsewhereabode.com.au to discuss your options.

We cannot guarantee a return outside the stated timeframe, but we will always do our best to approach genuine concerns with care, fairness and common sense.

We want our customers to love their pieces, truly. And we would much rather hear from you than have you keep something that does not feel right.

A NOTE ON WOOL TEXTURE

Alpaca and llama wool are natural animal fibres, which means they have texture, character and variation. They do not feel like synthetic fleece, faux fur, cotton or plush bedding.

Some pieces feel soft, smooth and brushed; others feel weightier, more woven and more textural. Everyone experiences natural fibres differently, especially against the skin.

We encourage you to read our journal article, Is Wool Right For Me?, before choosing your blanket. It explains how alpaca and llama wool feel, how they behave, and which fibre may best suit your preferences.

If your blanket arrives and the texture, weight or feel is not quite right, our 30-day return policy for store credit gives you time to decide whether it is a piece you will truly love.

A NOTE ON UNPACKING & STYLING

We understand you may need to unpack your blanket, place it in your space, style it on a bed or sofa, and feel the texture before deciding if it is right for you.

That is completely okay.

Light handling for the purpose of viewing, styling and feeling the blanket is accepted. However, returned items must still be in as-new condition and suitable for resale with their original packaging intact.

CHANGE OF MIND

We understand that choosing textiles online can be difficult. Colour, texture, scale and feel can appear different on screen, and we want you to feel confident choosing a piece you will love.

Change-of-mind returns include situations where:

The colour is not quite right
The texture or feel is not what you expected
The size does not suit your space
The design does not work with your home, van, cabin or camp setup
You have simply changed your mind

For change-of-mind returns, we offer store credit within 30 days, provided the item meets our return conditions.

We do not offer refunds for change of mind unless required under Australian Consumer Law.

FAULTY, DAMAGED OR INCORRECT ITEMS

If your item arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible at admin@elsewhereabode.com.au with your order number and clear photos of the issue.

We will work with you to arrange a suitable solution, which may include a replacement, refund or store credit, depending on the circumstances and your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law are not limited by this policy.

SALE ITEMS

Sale or clearance items may be final sale for change-of-mind returns, unless the item is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.

This does not limit your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

HANDMADE & SMALL-BATCH TEXTILES

Many of our pieces are handcrafted or produced in small batches.

Slight variations in colour, shade, weave, pattern placement, texture and finish may occur. These small variations are part of the character of slow-made textiles and are not considered faults unless the item is significantly different from its description or images.

We do our best to represent each piece accurately through photography and product descriptions, but please note that colours may appear slightly different depending on screen settings and lighting.

NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS

We cannot accept change-of-mind returns for items that have been:

Used beyond light styling or inspection
Washed
Marked or stained
Exposed to strong odours, smoke or pet hair
Damaged after delivery
Returned without original packaging
Returned outside the 30-day return period, unless otherwise agreed
Returned without approval

HOW TO START A RETURN

To request a return, please email admin@elsewhereabode.com.au within 30 days of receiving your order.

Please include:

Your name
Order number
Item you would like to return
Reason for return
Photos of the item in its current condition

We will reply with return instructions.

Please do not send your item back before your return has been approved.

Once your return has been received and checked, we will issue a store credit for the value of the returned item.

Store credit can be used toward another Elsewhere Abode piece when you are ready to choose again.
